Bhante Arunasiri
Bhante Arunasiri is a distinguished educator, researcher, and Buddhist scholar with a rich and diverse academic background.
His journey in Buddhist studies began at an early age, receiving novice ordination in 2001 at the Siri Kettharamaya Buddhist temple in Galle, Sri Lanka. His formal education includes primary monastery education at Midigama Sirisumana Pirivena, Royal Pandith studies at Vidyodya Pirivena in Colombo, a Bachelor’s degree with First Class honors and Gold Medal from SIBA Campus in Kandy, an MA in Buddhist Studies from Maha Chulalongkorn Rajavidyalaya University in Thailand, and MA in Buddhist Studies at the University of Kelaniya in Colombo.
He has also completed diplomas in Counselling Psychology and Information Technology. Bhante Arunasiri professional experience spans both academic and practical realms, including teaching at Lyceum International School, Sri Lanka, lecturing at SIBA Campus, and currently serving as Assistant in Charge at Birmingham Buddhist Maha Vihara and Director of the Research Centre of Pali & Buddhist Studies in the UK (RCPBS-UK).
His scholarly contributions are substantial, with 31 research articles and editorial roles for international conferences and national journals.
Proficient in Sinhala, English, Sanskrit, and Pali, Bhante Arunasiri regularly conducts educational seminars and has shared his knowledge of Dhamma across Europe and Asia.
His combination of roles in research, education, and community engagement, coupled with his specializations in Buddhist philosophy and meditation, make him a valuable asset in both educational and spiritual contexts.
